Jean Schmidt pulled out a narrow victory (52% to 48%) against Paul "George W. Bush is a SOB" Hackett tonight in the Ohio 2nd Congressional District race to replace Rob Portman. There were 2 probable reasons the vote was so close: Republican turnout was particularly low (likely apathy due to assumed victory, Portman had won with about 70% of the vote each time he had run and Bush recieved about 75% in the most recent election), and there were several levies on various ballots around the district. Regardless, congratulations Jean on a well won victory!
